By taking part in:
AN AMERICANISM PROGRAM
“A SALUTE TO THE GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”
My name is Petty Officer Jim Cava, United States Navy Retired. I will lead you in the program.
I am a combat decorated veteran who served our country proudly as a US Navy Corpsman (a medic) attached to the 5th Marines in the Vietnam War.
As founder of Operation Red, White and Blue I continue to serve our country proudly by fostering and upholding Americanism in the United States of America.
FOR OUR CREATOR AND COUNTRY
~
To begin
OUR AMERICANISM PROGRAM
Please stand for Our National Anthem - Our Country’s Song of Greatness
And remain standing for The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag - Our Promise of Loyalty to the United States of America
Everyone
Please look at our flag and place your hands on your hearts!
“United-As-One”
Let us recite
THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER
Please repeat after me!
Oh, say can you see / Attention, can you see
By the dawn's early light / By the rising sun’s early light
What so proudly we hailed / What so greatly we respected
At the twilight's last gleaming / At the setting sun’s last shining light
Whose broad stripes and bright stars / Whose outstanding stripes and glowing stars
Through the perilous fight / Through the dangerous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched / Over the walls we watched
Were so gallantly streaming / Were so excellently flowing
And the rocket's red glare / And the rocket's were throwing red hot flames
The bombs bursting in air / The bombs were exploding sharp pieces of metal in all directions
Gave proof through the night / Gave no doubt whatsoever
That our flag was still there
Oh, say does that star spangled banner / Attention, does that magnificent flag of stars and strips
Yet wave / Forever wave
O'er the land of the free / Over the land of the free
And the home of the brave
~
Now let us now recite
THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
Please repeat after me:
I pledge allegiance / I promise loyalty
To the flag of the United States of America
And to the republic / And to the government of the people, by the people, for the people
For which it stands / For which she stands
“One Nation Under God”
Indivisible / “United-As-One”
With liberty and justice for all / With freedom and fairness for all
That was terrific!
Give yourselves a big heartfelt round of applause!
Please be seated

THE BATTLE AND THE DEFENSE OF FORT MC HENRY
A TRUE ADVENTURE STORY OF OUR HONORABLE AND BRAVE PATRIOTIC AMERICANS
It was the War of 1812 and once again, America was fighting the British Empire. The British had captured Washington DC.
They burned the White House, the Capital and many other buildings and next, they planned to capture the city of Baltimore; America's third largest city.
Fort McHenry guarded the entrance to Baltimore's important harbor and proudly flew “The Star Spangled Banner.”
The British were very sure that they would easily win the battle,
take the fort, destroy “The Star Spangled Banner” and raise their own flag in victory.
The British attack on Fort McHenry began early on September 13, 1814 in pouring rain.
All through the day and into the night, for over 25 straight hours - thousands of bombs, mortars, rockets and shells battered the fort.
Five awesome things happened through that perilous fight:
1st) - “The Star Spangled Banner” was never destroyed!
2nd) - The flag pole that proudly flew “The Star Spangled Banner” never went down
because Our Honorable and Brave Patriotic Americans inside the fort
held onto the flag pole and some even sacrificed-their-lives so that “The Star Spangled Banner” would not-go-down!
3rd) - Despite their fearsome assault and tremendous fire power - the British were defeated, humiliated and forced to retreat!
4th) - The courage and fearlessness of Our Honorable and Brave Patriotic Americans
in defending Fort McHenry and protecting “The Star Spangled Banner” was superhuman and beyond compare!
5th) - After the battle Francis Scott Key, a true American Patriot, was so inspired by Our American Victory
and the sight of “The Star Spangled Banner” still flying triumphantly over Fort McHenry that he wrote Our National Anthem aka “The Star Spangled Banner!”
Students
This story teaches us:
How perfectly our forefathers respected our flag!
And how perfectly all Americans should respect our flag!

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
And the fundamental and undeniable principles for which she stands:
HONOR - To be GOOD! LIBERTY - To be FREE!
EQUALITY - To be ONE! JUSTICE - To be FAIR! HUMANITY - To be KIND!
To Respect:
The Honorable and Brave Patriotic Americans who founded my country
To Respect:
The symbol of my country's greatness and all that she stands-for, my flag:
The Star Spangled Banner
To Respect:
My Good Loving Parents
My Good Devoted School Principal and Teachers
My Good Fellow Students
To Respect:
My Good Commendable Veterans
My Good Dedicated Police Officers and Fire Fighters
My Good Dependable First Aid and Ambulance Personnel
To Respect:
My Good Mentally and Physically Challenged Americans
My Good Younger Americans and Senior Citizens
My Good Honest Workers and Selfless Volunteers
To Respect:
Myself
By Doing - What is Right!
And
By Being - A Person of Good Character!
~
To Realize:
That all people are created equal
That all people are made the same
With a Heart! And With a Soul!
With a Body! And With a Mind!
That no one is better than I am
That I am no better then someone else
That it is cruel and inhuman to bully someone else
That it is cruel and inhuman to torment someone else
That it is cruel and inhuman to be-mean-to someone else
That it is cruel and inhuman to make-fun-of someone else
And that it is Good and that it is Right
to Treat my Good Fellow Students like I would like to be Treated!
And by doing so, I will help make: (name of school)
A Happier, Healthier and Safer Place to Be!
To Realize:
That all people are endowed (presented) by their Creator
With certain (definite) unalienable (natural) rights
That among these definite natural rights are:
LIFE
That it is right for all people to LIVE!
LIBERTY
That it is right for all people to be FREE!
And the pursuit of HAPPINESS
That it is right for all people to be HAPPY!
To Realize:
I am a Person!
I am Somebody! I am Special!
I am Important! I am Great! I am an American!
~
To Believe-In:
My Country and Myself!
To Be-Responsible-For:
The Things I Say and Do!
To Be-Thankful-For:
Who I am!
And To Take-Hold-Of:
My Power!
~
To Try-My-Best:
To Do - What is Right!
To Be - A Person of Good Character!
To Be - All That I Can Be by Learning and Respecting!
To See - My American Dream come true! And To Feel - Pride in my Country and in Myself!
~
To Realize:
Smoking cigarettes will suffocate - My Breathing Life!
Drinking alcohol will weaken - My Powerful Life!
Using violence will trouble - My Peaceful Life!
Being hateful will torment - My Fragile Life!
Taking drugs will destroy - My Only Life!
~
And this I pledge with all my heart.
